The second day of training began with a discussion on the exercises done the previous day. He started talking on the topic of ‘Chakras’ or ‘Energy Centers’. He was actually expecting us to ask – “What are Chakras?” But since all of us were engrossed in our previous experience, this question never occurred to our mind.
Major energy centers are about 3 to 4 inches in size. They influence all vital organs of our physical body. He called the chakras ‘power stations’, which distribute energy or prana to all the organs. He said that when a person falls sick, his or her energy body is first affected and then, the physical body. Since the physical body doesn’t get adequate supply of energy from the chakras, it becomes weak and diseased.

The Theory of Chakras
Given the fact that half of first day of the workshop was spent on the basics of Pranic Healing, the trainer now wanted us to focus on the theoretical concepts. We learnt that a living being is made of a combination of physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and energy bodies. Energy body is our aura that surrounds our physical body; and in that layer, all mini, minor and major chakras or energy centers are located, just like the organs in our physical body.

Primary role of Chakras
Gradually, he moved on to discuss the primary roles of the chakras. He pointed out that chakras energize and activate our physical organs. Digestion and blood circulation are also controlled by the chakras. In fact, chakras also influence our psychic faculties or abilities. To make us understand this point, he gave us the example of hand minor chakras, which are found in the center of the palms. He said when you activate the minor chakras you get to feel the different layers of your aura. He reminded us of the previous exercise, where, on activation, we felt the pressure building between the center of our palms.
The second session was a bit heavy on my mind, but I enjoyed it too. It seemed I was in a different world altogether. But as you know, theories are a bit boring compared to practical work, so I was waiting for the next lesson to begin.
