Throat Chakra - Day 12

The discussion continued on the major chakras and now, the next topic to be focused upon was the throat chakra. Before this chakra, we were told about the ajna chakra, which is the center of higher mental faculties. But, throat chakra is, as our trainer said, the center of the lower mental powers. From this, one could also say that while ajna chakra deals with the abstract mental faculties, throat chakra is related to the concrete mind or thinking.

Found in the center of the throat, the throat chakra is composed of 16 petals. It controls the functioning of throat, air tube, lymphatic system, voice box, thyroid gland, etc. It also influences our sex chakra. A person, who is suffering either from asthma, sore throat or speech disorders, has a weak throat chakra.

This in short was the major points about the throat chakra. While discussing this chakra, our trainer made a passing reference to the secondary throat chakra too. Somehow I missed this point. Don’t know the exact reason why I didn’t pay attention to this point. But yes, somewhere in my mind I was little conscious about the fact that this training session would be over soon. And, I didn’t want that to happen..*sigh*!
