Basics of Pranic Healing - Day 1

The first time I heard about the basics of Pranic Healing was from one of my close friends. There was something special about the two words ‘Pranic’ and ‘Healing’ that got me interested in this alternative therapy. She asked me to join her for a two days workshop, scheduled to be held on the following day at a temple complex. Right at that moment, I could not enroll myself for the basic workshop, but curiosity and a sense of unusual fondness for those two words did not let me focus on my daily chores either.

The Clouds

Later, I decided to call up my friend and ask her about the basics of Pranic Healing. That was perhaps the beginning of my journey into the world of pranic healing and pranic healers (one who practices this art form of healing); a beginning of informal training. I learnt from her that pranic healing is an alternative medical therapy based entirely on the use of energy. She mentioned about the instructor who had come down from Chennai to conduct the workshop. He had taken the students to an open roof and asked them to focus on the patches of clouds visible in the sky. For a second, I thought it was a crazy thing to do. But, when she told me the purpose behind this exercise, I realized that I had missed out on the significance of the exercise..

The trainer asked all of them a question, "Tell me. What do you see up there?". Everyone said it felt like some small white dots were flying before their eyes. He smiled and said "Yes, those white dots or particles are energy." The higher the level of your energy, the denser the mass of those white particles would appear. Post that small exercise, the group was led back to the class. My friend told me how everyone was excited because it was for the first time that they had all experienced something remarkable like that. She was about to tell me the details regarding the next exercise they undertook, but just then the clock struck 12. We wished each other good night and went to sleep. Although that marked the end of informal training for me, I had by then decided to undergo formal training in the basics of Pranic Healing.
